Qualifications & Requirements
To be considered for a teaching position at ABC Preschool & Daycare, applicants should meet the following qualifications:
2–3 years of prior experience working with young children (preferred)
Minimum of 12 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Current and valid Pediatric First Aid/CPR, Health & Safety (EMSA) certification
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds chest high
High school diploma or equivalent
Must be at least 18 years old
Successful completion of health and TB screening
Department of Justice fingerprint clearance
Responsibilities
Teachers at ABC Preschool & Daycare are responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and positive learning environment. Duties include, but are not limited to:
Planning, preparing, and implementing daily age-appropriate curriculum
Creating a nurturing atmosphere where children can thrive
Performing primary caregiving responsibilities
Maintaining strong communication with parents, including conferences and updates
Preparing written reports as needed
Collaborating with co-teachers, substitutes, and volunteers
Attending staff meetings and professional development opportunities
Maintaining confidentiality of children, families, and staff
Greeting children, parents, and visitors warmly each day
Assisting colleagues when requested
Carrying out additional duties as assigned by the Director

Amazing school . My child loves and enjoys coming to school everyday yet again the teachers are super nice and speak Spanish which it was a plus for me. We will definitely miss everyone next school year!
The lovely teachers at ABC took incredible care of both my kids for upwards of 4 years. The older was so well prepared for TK and both kids grew so much in their care. Convenience being next door to Castro Valley Elementary was so helpful. More than anything we always felt our kids were safe, supported and loved!
Very reasonably priced excellent daycare with good hours for working parents. My son and daughter both went here, had lots of friends, and came home happy every day. They have plenty of outdoor playtime and learned to be very independent little people here. You do not need to be potty trained to register at this school which is a huge plus. Teachers were also great at preparing my kids for preschool by teaching them how to write their name, numbers, and letters. Thanks for taking care of my children ABC.
My son started going to ABC as soon as he turned two, and today is his last day there before Kindergarten. It really is bittersweet- on one hand, we are so excited to start on our new adventure but on the other hand, we are sad to be leaving ABC! The quality of care he received at ABC was amazing- everyone from Ms. Tansy to all the teachers took such good care of him. They are compassionate and great educators. I am so thankful we found ABC and highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a daycare/preschool!
